Institution
Section overview
Description
According to a State Government Resolution the Medical Centers of Kiel and Lübeck were consolidated on January 1, 2003, under the name of the University Hospital Schleswig-Holstein (Universitätsklinikum Schleswig-Holstein - UK S-H), with both Centers keeping their respective locations. The UK S-H is subject to the law applying to public institutions and supported by the State of Schleswig-Holstein. The fact is that we are dealing with a unique situation in the Federal Republic of Germany: The University Medical Center Schleswig-Holstein combines the Medical Colleges of the Christian-Albrechts-University in Kiel and the University of Lübeck.
