Description
The German Institute of Rubber Technology (DIK) is one of the worlds leading rubber research and development centres. The DIK is an independent research institution with close cooperation to the Leibniz University Hannover and to the industry. The main roles of DIK are to perform: research into high-performance elastomers, technological development in compounding and processing, physical and chemical characterisation of rubber and plastic composites, improvement of service lifetime of rubber products and composites, environmental and trace analysis, supportive services to industry. The institutes wide-ranging interdisciplinary organisation is a crucial factor in its uniqueness. A team of engineers, physicists, chemists and well trained technicians is capable of working out tailor-made solutions to the problems occurring in the field by using a modern and sophisticated pool of equipment. The DIK provides intensive education courses in rubber science and technology. A cooperation agreement with the University of Hannover and partnerships with institutes all over the world enlarge the innovative potential.
