Description

As an integrative research center, the Campus Straubing is fully integrated into the Technische Universität of München (TUM). Straubing is the TUM’s fourth location beside Munich’s city center, Garching and Freising-Weihenstephan. Scientists at the TUM Campus Straubing for Biotechnology and Sustainability conduct fundamental research and technological developments on renewable raw materials, biotechnology and the bioeconomy. The main research areas are chemical-chemical utilization and energy recovery, as well as economic aspects related to the production, marketing and use of renewable raw materials. Other research areas include regenerative energy systems, the recycling of residual materials, deep and near-surface geothermal energy and solar energy. In research and teaching, the principle of sustainability also receives special attention.

The academic education at the TUM Campus Straubing takes place within the study programs B.Sc. „Bioökonomie”, B.Sc. „Chemische Biotechnologie”, B.Sc./M.Sc. „Nachwachsende Rohstoffe”, B.Sc. „Technologie- und Managementorientierte Betriebswirtschaftslehre” (TUM-BWL), M.Sc. „Biomassetechnologie” and master theses and doctorates.
