Collaborative project: Sensorbasierte precision breeding of Triticale as a resource-efficient raw material plant. Subproject 1: Phenotyping, genomics and characteristic prediction (SENSELGO)

Project

Project code: 22024515
Contract period: 15.03.2017 - 30.09.2020
Budget: 768,492 Euro
Purpose of research: Applied research

The proposed project is the development and optimization of sensor-based Präzisionsphänotypisierung for plant breeding, as well as the establishment of Triticale as raw material plant. While a combination of sensor-based Feldphänotypisierung and Genomics is used to achieve an increase in the biomass yield and the targeted improvement of its components. Furthermore is a direct and indirect selection on resource efficiency of Triticale, in particular the improvement of the efficiency of nitrogen. The project is divided into the following components: (1) a to build practice relevant population by 1,000 from the current breeding programs, Triticalelinien and genotype with genome-wide markers and candidate genes, (2) new to the so far used to integrate complementary sensors with selectivity for any unidentified physiological parameters in the sensor module of the BreedVision Phänotypisierungsplattform and to evaluate, Triticale, wheat and rye (3) a new To develop sensor module for determining the stocking density and also to evaluate Triticale, wheat and rye, (4) the BreedVision system in addition to the continuous drive to expand for static measurements in the stop-and-go of mode, (5) the BreedVision Platform for the detection and prediction of biomass yield, as well as for previously unrecognised, for yield-related components, such as the population density and the plant physiology, to take advantage of the established Triticalepopulation, (6) the efficiency of Triticalegenotypen under reduced nitrogen and pesticide use to evaluate, and (7) to use the data obtained for the predictive breeding of Triticale as a resource-efficient raw material plant.
