Project code: EIP-Agri-Rlp-2020-LPT-01
Contract period: 02.01.2020 - 30.06.2023
Budget: 374,439 Euro
Purpose of research: Applied research

Partly mobile slaughter means to kill animals, in this case bovine, on site on the ranch. Usually this is done by stunning with captive bolt and a following bleeding to death. Afterwards, the dead bodies are being carried to a slaughter house for further processing. For this purpose a mobile unit belonging to the slaughterhouse and an employee of the slaughterhouse who will operate the unit are necessary. Processes for partly mobile slaughter of single animals already exist. As part of this project the process shall be modified to realize killing up to 4 to 8 animals successively. This will ensure a more economical delivery of significant amount to the retail traders. Regional sales of organic meat , produced without mental pressure for animals can thus be increased.
