Additives for Rapeseed Oil Fuel - Part 2: Engine tests and long term studies
Project
Project code: 22012211
Contract period: 01.09.2011
- 31.08.2013
Budget: 308,688 Euro
Purpose of research: Applied research
Within the research project ‘Additives for Rapeseed Oil Fuel - Part 2: Engine tests and long term studies’ promising additives or additive packages are to be further investigated in engine tests and long term studies in regard to their practical suitability. In a long term study the storage stability of the additivated rapeseed oil fuel will be determined. The influence of these additives on power, torque, fuel consumption as well as the limited and non-limited emission components will be further investigated on a tractor test stand. It has to be examined if there is an influence of the additives on the emissions and operation during cold start and warm-up phase. Finally, the effectiveness of the cold flow improvers is studied in a real fuel system set up in a tempered/cooled test chamber.
