In farrowing, piglets safety cages are replaced by motion bays. With the processing of the innovation project shall be recorded and presented with sows from first to the 5th litter on the basis of a long-term study the effect of these alternative housing systems on measurable criteria of animal welfare, animal health and the biological performance of sows. This enables reliable results for the implementation and reconciliation of these housing systems are provided in the wide agricultural sows.
