Collaborative project: Innovative breeding strategies for improving the growing nature of the yellow Lupine (Lupinus luteus) in German. Subproject 2: feature detection by IPK gene bank accessions (InnoLuteus)
Project
Project code: 22036618
Contract period: 01.04.2019
- 31.03.2022
Budget: 167,995 Euro
Purpose of research: Experimental development
The project's overall objective is to improve the cultivation worthiness of the yellow Lupine hardly used in Germany (Lupinus luteus). It shows their strengths through their cultivation suitability on lean, sandy areas, their good drought tolerance and its high protein content. Breeding methods, taking into account (I) novel mutant collections and (II) previously unused genetic resources combined with development of innovative, sequence-based markers can a significant characteristic optimization be achieved, and the basis for a future breeding progress be made in the yellow Lupine. With the project indicates innovation impulses to plant breeding.
