Evaluation of aroma patterns in resistant and non-resistant apple genotypes
Project
Project code: JKI-ÖPV-02-1228
Contract period: 01.08.2000
- 31.03.2004
Purpose of research: Applied research
The aim of the project is to characterize the aroma patterns of resistant and non-resistant apple genotypes. In cooperation with the Institute for Fruit Breeding (IOZ) the apple collection of Dresden-Pillnitz will be used. The main topic of the analytical work is the determination of genetically based differences in the aroma patterns. The application of gas chromatography olfactometry enables to perform correlations between instrumental analyses and human sensory. The expected results are prerequisites for the objective assessment of sensory quality in plant breeding (development of rapid methods).
