bio!TOY

Project

Project code: 22030918
Contract period: 01.01.2019 - 31.05.2019
Budget: 10,000 Euro
Purpose of research: Conferences and Meetings
Keywords: bioplastics, toy market, faire/conference, public relation

Since the topic of toys made of bioplastics offers considerable potential, Polymedia Publisher GmbH (Michael Thielen) and Narocon (Harald Käb) are planning a special conference. The aim is to inform manufacturers of toys about the possibilities of using plastics made from renewable raw materials and to promote the market launch of products through direct dialogue and contacts (networking). The conference is planned for March 2019 in Nuremberg, as the toy industry knows the location from the International Toy Fair. The target group of the conference on the side of the conference topics are the manufacturers and dealers of toys. The producers of the corresponding raw materials are to be won as speakers. In addition, there will be general lectures on raw material availability (incl. land use), circular economy or e.g. toy safety and certification. According to initial research in the toy industry, the organisers expect around 50-80 participants and 20 speakers. As the conference is to be international from the outset, English was chosen as the conference language. A table-top exhibition will give exhibitors the opportunity to present their products and services. Possible speakers and topics are for example - DVSI: The toy market and the demand for sustainable alternatives - Nova Institut (alternative: ifeu) on raw materials & sustainability - FNR: Promotion and sustainable procurement (incl. EU view) - H.Kaeb: "Transition Process within the (EU) Plastic Industry" (Trends & Politics)
