Budget: 5,000 Euro
Purpose of research: Conferences and Meetings
Keywords: bioenergy, ressource conservation, ressource efficiency, renewable ressources

Bioenergy is an essential component of a sustainable energy supply and in achieving the climate protection goals. In addition to the need-based, flexible supply of electricity, especially through biogas plants, bioenergy plays an important role in the heat and transport sector. However, the bioenergy sector currently has to deal with a wide range of issues: topics such as the EEG amendment, the slowly progressing thermal energy transition, stricter emission limits, new regulations for biofuels and other legal innovations are constantly posing new challenges for the further development of bioenergy. In order to realize innovative and internationally competitive bio-based solutions in the long term, such issues must be discussed. In response to these latest developments, this year's Rostock Bioenergy Forum focuses on presenting sustainable concepts that can contribute to sustainable energy supply and climate protection. Practical examples and pilot projects address the production, provision, processing and processing of biomass and the development of new bio-based products and bioenergy sources. These include various topics such as resource conservation, innovative conversion methods, bioeconomy, the development of potentials of biogenic residues, the development of efficient heat supply concepts and sector coupling. This year, the forum will also once again discuss the role of bioenergy in the mobility sector, with a focus on future fuels in agriculture, shipping, heavy goods and road transport. Interesting topics include the use of alternative input materials, emission quotas and the latest political developments.
