Project
Project code: 281C504B21
Contract period: 06.03.2023
- 05.03.2025
Budget: 214,964 Euro
Purpose of research: Applied research
Keywords: wildlife, digital world, sheep, animal welfare, small ruminants, livestock protection
The aim of the project is to develop a wolf attack detection system for grazing animals to enable quick reactions and thereby reduce wolf predation numbers. The detection takes place via intelligent sensor collars on a few grazing animals, which trigger a suspicion of an attack in the case of characteristic parameter constellations and trigger an alarm on the smartphones of a user group and a subsequent immediate control drive. The monitored parameters are primarily the movements and noises of the grazing animals. The parameters are evaluated using artificial intelligence.
