Project code: EIP-Agri-BW-2023-AKW
Contract period: 01.01.2023 - 31.12.2025
Budget: 495,473 Euro
Purpose of research: Applied research
Keywords: general climate change

Climate change and the increasing scarcity of resources pose major challenges for the economy, research and society. Industries that, like viticulture, are directly dependent on nature and the climate must act quickly and innovatively. The FairChoice label for controlled sustainable wine was developed at Heilbronn University in 2010. The scientifically based catalogue of criteria includes criteria from all three sustainability areas. As part of the KliDiNa project, the sustainability criteria are being adapted for digitalisation and harmonised with other standards such as the German Sustainability Code. The aim is to develop a low-threshold sustainability management system for winegrowing enterprises. In addition to a freely accessible self-assessment and advisory tool, another software level is being created for the certification process with FairChoice .In a market research approach, communication strategies will be developed to strengthen sustainability awareness and branding. These will be targeted internally to the industry as well as to end consumers.
