'The EU Organic Regulation 2092/91 provides for the wine, the use of organic seed. An exemption allows the use of conventional planting material, provided it is demonstrated that organic plant material can not be purchased on the market. This exemption is in organic viticulture is currently applicable, because Europe is almost no ecological vine propagating material is available. the little vine propagating material that is available on the market that covers far short of needs and is most especially not in the desired combinations of varieties documents. the reasons for the . non-availability of organic vine propagating material are varied the vine appears to change risky, because in practice, many questions still show in the implementation are in the usual production methods, the nurseries, the following difficulties in the production of ecological planting vines.:
- The EU Organic Regulation requires for recognition as an ecological material increase in perennial crops, two growing seasons under organic farming (conversion time)
- Ecologically certified timber for documents and scion is not in sufficient quantity nor diversity exists
- For current standard culture methods currently used materials that are not allowed in organic farming, such as Chinosol (Botrytizid) and wax, etc. The aim of this project to gain practical experience for the production of organic vine propagating material and to derive recommendations for practice. '
