Purpose of research: Experimental development
The causal agent of fire blight, Erwinia amylovora is the most important bacterial pathogen in pome fruit and is insufficiently investigated. There is a lack of data on pathogenicity, which requires molecular investigations. In addition incomplete data on overwintering and spread should be obtained.
