Improved transparency in the organic food market: Data collection in the specialized organic retail taking in consideration of job training opportunities
Project
Project code: 2815OE007
Contract period: 01.04.2017
- 31.03.2018
Budget: 94,134 Euro
Purpose of research: Applied research
The aim of the project is the creation of an overview (database) of the population of specialised organic retail in Germany and its structural features. As the market is developing dynamically and a structural change has to be assumed, the data to be collected will be a major contributor to market transparency.
The queried structural data will include: address, sales area, affiliation to a retail chain, type of diversification strategy, information on training programs, trainees, succession planning and planned expansions.
Subsequently all retailers contained in the newly created database will be contacted by mail or by email.
The further objective is to simultaneously develop an online-tool, which will enable the retailers to enter their general customer data and the data required for this survey by themselves.
