Purpose of research: Basic research

Since 2 decades, the agricultural relevant bumblebee as pollinators of crops. Initial used in greenhouses, the bumblebee today for the free-pollination. Classically honey bees are used for pollination, but is now widely used by ousted bumblebee, resulting in the growth of bumblebee manufacturing industry and the decline in the number of commercial beekeepers can read. bumblebees are in many ways better pollinators than honey bees, pollination because the quality is much higher. The smaller size of these peoples are easier to handle. Have a few decades ago nor the tomatoes mechanically bestäubt strawberries or manually, these are useful nowadays only by bumblebees bestäubt. It has become a commercial bumblebee industry, focusing on the mass production of the international industry. However, for the peoples bumblebee commercially produced no growth on certain characteristics. The companies are suffering in part by the massive infestation of the peoples by pathogens. This is balanced by huge new free-catches, often including the introduction of sub-species habitatfremder result, what new pathogens can bring or with the local fauna compete. We propose the development of a new detection tool, which is the bumblebee-growing manufacturing industry should help to breed specifically to mitigate negative effects to be avoided. We want commercial as well as natural populations for disease resistance and to an increased immune system. From a combination of breeding and selection and molecular methods such as gene studies and Genkartierungen, and the unique opportunity haploid Mänchen advantage, we will lay the foundations for the first marker-assisted selection in this immensely important agricultural insect.
