Development and application of methods for the analysis of mineral oil components in body care products and cosmetics
Project
Project code: BfR-CPS-08-1329-552
Contract period: 01.09.2016
- 31.08.2018
Purpose of research: Applied research
Due to the occurrence of MOAHs (mineral oil aromatic hydrocarbons) in cosmetic products in the percent range we are aimed to characterize the chemical composition of the MOAH fraction in detail. In addition to the online-LC-GC-FID und GCxGC-ToF-MS analysis of MOAHs, which both are well established at the BfR now for years, NMR spectroscopy and the UV-assay mentioned in the pharmacopoeia for testing of the absence of aromatic com-pounds are of special interest.
