Project
Project code: MRI-OG-08-129-1060 KIZURI
Contract period: 01.10.2018
- 30.09.2020
Purpose of research: Applied research
Keywords: Sustainable process and product quality
The new apple cultivar ‚Kizuri‘ will be introduced into the market 2018/2019 under the trade mark ‘Morgana’. Only a few data (own publication) concerning the storability (influence cultivation, storage conditions) of the cultivar are available at the moment. The cultivar shall be offered to the consumer as long as possible. Therefore, the cultivar will be stored from October to June under different storage conditions (air, controlled atmosphere, MCP treated). During the storing period apples will be taken out of the storage at three times (January, March, June) to determine quality parameters like firmness, total soluble solid content, total titratable acid, and vitamin C. The influence of cultivation and storage conditions on the above parameters of the cultivar ‘Kizuri’ will be evaluated. Additionally, fruits will be assessed for outer and internal diseases and sensorial evaluated by a few members of the institute.
