Collaborative project: Enterprise resource planning and management for small parcelled private forest (smallForest)
Project
Project code: 22018618
Contract period: 01.03.2019
- 31.08.2020
Budget: 75,580 Euro
Purpose of research: Inventory & Assessment
Keywords: digitalization, wood supply chain, renewable ressources
This project is examining the special aspects and requirements of supply, batch, contraction, processing and invoicing for stacked wood amounts. As stated in the Waldstrategie 2020 of the Bundesministeriums für Landwirtschaft, Ernährung und Verbraucherschutz (BMELV), a well-founded data set is required to ensure market transparency as well as for political and corporate decisions in equal measure. Also, market evaluations show that the need for timber in Germany is increasing continuously. But looking at wood industry structures, especially the small parcelled private forest will not be able to meet the market’s requirements until having tools for management and care of their clients’ forests in place. What mostly can be found in this industry segment are out-dated stand-alone systems – if at all. These will lead to media discontinuity and data loss.
