The Holzbau-GIS project contributes to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions by building and renovating with wood The carbon / greenhouse gas calculator is embedded in a GIS-based web-information system and puts the gained insights of the project into a regional context. Based on a GIS model the estimation of GHG reduction for new construction and refurbishment with wood as well as the potential of regional available wood resources for energy and material use and their value chain were linked in the model. This enables municipalities in self-management to integrate the greenhouse gas savings achieved through the use of wood as building material in their own climate protection concepts. The central core of the project is the analysis of potentials in timber construction at the municipal level, as well as the communication and the transfer of knowledge gained in the project by the development of a model for the calculation of greenhouse gas reduction potentials. The following work plan addresses the requirements express in the objectives and its work packages (WP). The project aims a close cooperation with practice partners at the AP level. 1.)
