Questioning of Operators of Decentralised Oilseed Processing Plants

Purpose of research: Applied research
The processing of oilseeds in decentralised oil mills has developed to a remarkable branch of business for agriculture in Germany. A survey in 2004 showed that the number of decentralised oil mills in Germany has increased strongly. Goal of the questioning is to assess up to date data of decentralised oil mills in Germany. Questions concerned technical equipment, mass flow rates of both, raw materials and products, provisions for quality assurance as well as prices and proceeds for the produced oil and press cake. Besides the description of the present situation, the oil millers were asked to estimate future business development.
