Detection of aflatoxin-producing Aspergillus sp. strains in freshly harvested grain samples for inventory on arable land in Germany
Project
Project code: MRI-GE-08-2021-44
Contract period: 01.06.2021
- 28.02.2023
Purpose of research: Applied research
Predictions modeling ongoing climate change indicate the possibility of aflatoxin-producing microorganisms spreading to northern Europe and Germany as very likely. Grain samples from the harvest are screened for the aflatoxin-producing microorganisms Aspergillus flavus and parasiticus. If the fungi are detected, the aflatoxin contents of the corresponding grain samples (wheat, rye) are determined.
