Aim of this project is to identify scientifically and to present the 'success story' of German cattle and pig breeding and to develop and to publish a socially acceptable communication strategy. To ensure an effective and transparent transfer of knowledge gained from this project specific information activities will be promoted. There is currently no overview in Germany available concerning developments in cattle and pig breeding for the individual animal species. Work packages (WP) WP 1: Highlighting the criticisms Points of criticisms of cattle and pig breeding will be identified and processed through measures of comprehensive research. Criticisms of the society, non-governmental organisations and politics; systematic analysis of breeding conditions; issue monitoring, strengths and weaknesses matrix WP2: Status report and data Analysis The core topics identified in work package 1 will be assessed by previous and especially by current data and facts of German cattle and pig breeding. Checking the plausibility of the data of different cattle and pig organisations in Germany and historical processing. WP3: Communication strategy and concept Strategy and concept of a targeted communication will be developed on the basis of the conducted analysis / fact-check. (risk issues, strengths and weaknesses, target groups). Statements, position papers and graphics etc. for internal and external communication will be develop. Information measures for transfer of knowledge will proposed.
