Researches on the effectiveness of phosphine against resistance strains of stored product insects.
Project
Project code: JKI-ÖPV-08-1440
Contract period: 01.01.2020
- 31.12.2021
Purpose of research: Applied research
The aim of this project is to invesitgate the effectiveness of phosphine against resistant insect strains of Sitophilus ssp., Rhyzopertah dominica, Cryptolestes ferrugineus and Lasioderma serricorne, which are reared for a long time at the departement of stored product protection of the ÖPV. Since the resistant strains have always been reared with the same genetic insect material and the rearing conditions have remained unchanged since the beginning, the question was asked whether the insects that are considered resistant are still resistant to phosphine. The adult insects are tested with rapid resistance test (phosphine tolerance test) and the resistance rank will be determined.
