Digital Farming Group (Project Group Digitalization in Agriculture)
Project
Project code: D/17/01
Contract period: 01.06.2017
- 31.12.2021
Budget: 1,300,000 Euro
Purpose of research: Applied research
Keywords: digital farming technologies, precision farming, adoption, acceptance, automatic hoeing, variable-rate nitrogen fertilization, animal sensors, field robotics
The project group's work program provides a detailed market analysis and evaluation of available digital farming technologies, against the background of the prevailing farm production structures in Bavaria. Particularly promising approaches are demonstrated, tested and evaluated at the LfL's teaching and technical centers as well as on pilot farms. This also applies to technologies for which the available knowledge is insufficient or not resilient (e.g. automtatic hoeing, variable rate applications, animal sensors). In addition, the project group will deal with barriers to acceptance from the farmers' perspective as well as with the social acceptance of digitalisation in agriculture.
