Project
Project code: 2818801B19
Contract period: 11.10.2021
- 10.10.2024
Budget: 204,803 Euro
Purpose of research: Applied research
Keywords: plant diseases (virusus, bacteria, fungi, phytoplasma), vegetable production, monitoring
The aim of MONITOR is the development of an on-site monitoring system for the control of seed-borne pests in vegetable production. To achieve this goal, the partners are working on new methods in 6 work packages that go beyond the state of the art: The consortium will develop an innovative assay for simultaneous DNA and RNA extraction from complex matrices and a new detection system. In addition, a test carrier will be developed that enables automated on-site analysis and which will be mass-produced. The MONITOR system has the following unique selling points: On-site analysis by automation; high sensitivity by nucleic acid analysis; easy handling; fast, safe and multiplex analysis of viruses, bacteria and fungi. In summary, MONITOR pursues the goal of overcoming the state of the art through innovative developments and offering a new solution in competitive comparison.
