Acer and hippophae are characterized by fine pored wood. Therefore they are very delicate to fungus diseases, that spread through the plants channels and plug these up. The disease leads to severe qualitative damages up to the premature death of the woods. The project aims to increase the verticillium tolerance through effective protection by microorganisms that work in the roots. Those will be enhanced by the use of specific plant strengheners. This will lay grounds to the production of verticillium dahlia tolerant woods in the genus of acer and hippophae that will be cultivated in vitro.
