Purpose of research: Applied research
Keywords: cultivation, urban agriculture, horticulture, AI Artificial Intelligence, vegetable production
Our project is a research and development project whose overall objective is to develop a user-oriented cultivation strategy of edible plants that can be implemented in office spaces. Furthermore we aim to identify suitable local horticultural business and enter learning partnerships with them with the objective of precultivation of young plants. Vertical Office Farm Modules [OFM] serve as the medium for the OfficeFarming concept. This is an innovative technical solution that is structurally decoupled from the building structure and can be integrated into any office space configuration. The decentrally organised, open designed, vertical OFMs are connected together to form office farms, controlled by an intelligent, self-learning algorithm. The system has dialogue-oriented artificial intelligence, learns from the harvesting behaviour of the users, stores the harvested number and type of plants as well as the time intervals and determines a forecast of the young plants to be cultivated. The gained knowledge and the achieved results will be furthermore incorporated into databases to be available for future research projects.
