A housing system for rearing rabbits is to be designed, developed and tested, which meets housing level 3 (outdoor climate) from the 'Initiative Tierwohl'. The priority here is a larger amount of space per animal, the outdoor climate stimulus (winter garden) and a littered area of the boxes. The project partners are concerned with collecting experience in keeping rabbits as descriped above, as this is currently not commercially practiced throughout Europe.
