Project code: 2822ABS014
Contract period: 01.01.2023 - 31.12.2026
Budget: 401,927 Euro
Purpose of research: Applied research
Keywords: crop production, fertilization, emissions, modeling, plant nutrition, rye, wheat, farmyard manure

The overall objective of the joint project is to reduce N2O and NH3 emissions as well as N leaching through knoeledge-based and site-adapted management in crop production. The specific objective of the sub-project 'Thyrow permanent field trial' is to quantify the effect of organic and mineral N fertilisation on gaseous N losses at a site with clay and humus-poor topsoil, which is unfavourable from a crop production perspective. The site represents typical cultivation conditions of the North German young moraine landscape with dry-warm diluvial soils of the East German lowlands. The Corg level in the soil of the permanent field trial is now highly differentiated (approx. 0.3 % - 1.1 %), so that long-term effects of the fertilisation variants can be mapped very well. The variants with Oderbruch soil allow the comparison of different soil textures under the same climatic conditions or the same management.
