Production processes

Project code: U006/2022
Contract period: 01.08.2022 - 31.12.2023
Purpose of research: Experimental development

The aim of the project is to develop and pilot such energetically effective and acceptable systems as the sun tree in order to contribute to energy goals in public spaces on the one hand and to increase their spatial design possibilities on the other. The main result of the project will be the development of a technological concept, the implementation of which will enable a location-independent and self-sufficient energy supply system, the design of which is intended to adapt to its surroundings.
With the help of a prototype, the application scenarios and the influence of the near-natural design on the effectiveness of the generation system will be investigated and evaluated. The basis for this is the well-founded selection of suitable generation and conversion technologies and their dimensioning. By means of a simplified mathematical model (simulation by means of a computer programme), an optimal system configuration is to be created, taking into account technical and economic parameters of the individual components, and the operating behaviour of the self-sufficient solar tree is to be considered in advance.
Through the targeted cascaded development stages, there is the possibility to measure volatile energy sources situationally and to evaluate their applicability. The following partial results are aimed for:

   - Technology and requirements catalogue for subcomponents of the sun tree
   - Application-specific calculation and design of a prototype unit
   - Concept of a self-sufficient, mobile energy supply unit through PV
   - Prototypical construction and functional verification (hardware, software)
   - Development of a catalogue of possible consumers (lighting, charging point, etc.) and application scenarios
   - Evaluation of the concept with regard to the repercussions of the design on the solar yield.
