Project code: 2822NIPSI3
Contract period: 01.05.2023 - 30.09.2023
Budget: 34,170 Euro
Purpose of research: Networks and research co-ordination
Keywords: re-adjustment of farms, climate change adaptation, closed loop recycling management, resource protection, resource efficiency

A systemic facilitation approach called ‘Sustainable Integrated Farming Systems (SIFS)’ has been developed and implemented by Welthungerhilfe (WHH) and partners in the last decade. The approach moves away from individual crop performance to increased system productivity and nutrient use efficiency by integrating crops, horticulture, agrofo-restry, livestock and aquaculture in an interactive relationship. As part of the initiation phase for a planned three-year research project that will address resource efficiency and climate change mitigation and adaptation in SIFS by generating and analyzing quantitative data on climate change mitigation potential and climate adaptation processes, a full proposal including detailed budget planning will be developed in close coordination with the partners. Specific objectives are to: 1. Identify local (research) partners, target groups and other stakeholders 2. Conduct a context analysis 3. Develop/fine tune the research question, hypothesis and workplan for the full proposal 4. Develop the concept for the full proposal.
