Purpose of research: Experimental development
The research project deals with comprehensive data management of horticultural farms. In this context, the software package 'ProdIS-Plant' was developed. ProdIS-Plant provides the necessary data base to optimize resource usage in terms of environmental and economical aspects. Providing comprehensive company data management, a high level of transparency in the production process is possible and can be used to increase productivity. One chance to lower energy costs is to drop the desired greenhouse temperature values temporarily or permanent. Using several components of ProdIS-Plant, both the risk involved and consumption of resources can be minimized. The producer is enabled to evaluate the impact of actions by continuous aquisition of plant growth data. Necessary tools for that are provided by ProdIS-Plant.
