Development of a stabilizer for tractor mounted machines
Project
Project code: 2814400908
Contract period: 01.09.2009
- 30.09.2011
Budget: 121,822 Euro
Purpose of research: Experimental development
The objective of this project was to develop a stabilisation device for attachments mounted on tractors to mitigate critical situations, particularly when driving on steep slopes. Such situations occur when ground conditions are unfavourable (e.g. when potholes, large stones etc. are encountered) in conjunction with the fact that the centre of gravity of the machine combination is shifted outwards and upwards when an attachment is fitted. The objective has, to the greatest possible extent, been achieved. Field trials with the experimental vehicle demonstrated that, in particular on steep slopes, the stabilisation device substantially increased safety and considerably relieved strain on the driver.
