Structural and functional dynamics of remorin proteins during plant pathogen interactions
Project
Project code: TP B04
Contract period: 01.07.2011
- 30.06.2015
Budget: 510,526 Euro
Purpose of research: Basic research
We have shown that remorin proteins are candidate facilitators of signalling cascades and signalling complex assembly. Here, we will functionally characterise two remorins from Arabidopsis thaliana that are involved in plant immunity. Analysis of plant mutants and transgenic lines in response to bacterial and fungal pathogens will be complemented by the identification of proteins interacting with these remorins. Among them is a novel LRR-receptor-like kinase that will be characterised in more detail. This approach should provide insights into molecular mechanisms underlying plant disease resistance.
