Purpose of research: Applied research
The agriculture and food industry is an important economic factor for the region Berlin-Brandenburg. Organic farming is in a national comparison of above average importance. The refining and processing of organic food industry structures are underdeveloped. The possibilities of a regional marketing of organic products have not been exhausted. The planned project will therefore identify the obstacles to development along the entire ecological food chain in the region Berlin-Brandenburg and concrete development measures with relevant stakeholders will be developed as models. The focus is on the marketing of organic products in the independent grocery retail (SEH). This is intended as targets the strengthening of regional economic cycles in the field of ecological agriculture and food industry in Berlin-Brandenburg, the identification of factors and formulation of strategies for successful marketing of regional organic products in the SEH and the model-based profiling of Greater Berlin-Brandenburg as 'Sustainable metropolitan region will be pursued. '
