Purpose of research: Applied research

Rations of 100% organic and local origin were to be verified. Up to 18 % of thermical processed rape cake has been fed to three different egg layers in varying rations. Faba beans, vicia sativa and blue lupins were used as a protein addition to achieve a feeding ration.. High vicin and convicin contents, especially in vicia sativa, led to a refusal of some food rations. No ration has been found suitable for daily use. Chicken fed with a rape cake-ration laid eggs with a positive fatty acid pattern, which is favourable for human diet. A study with a promising ration, contending the algae spirulina platensis, has not been finished yet. The evaluation of animal health showed significant differences in between the egg layers independent of given food.
