Purpose of research: Applied research
The applied research-German bee institutes, either at universities and at state institutes and veterinary facilities, an effective co-operation for field and laboratory work have built. To Using the data for the currently relevant bee diseases, especially for the varroa mite, Nosema and viral pathogens, the need are disease-sanitary measures assessed and implemented accordingly. About differentiated damage thresholds for pathogens, diagnostic rules and beekeeping activities on the prevention derived from damage. the influence of certain nutritional conditions in intensive agricultural crops and the contact of the bees with sublethal doses of various PSM should be assessed. Such hard data are for the current debate between agriculture and beekeeping is very important and can also be used for the selection of suitable bee sites. the consultancy activities of the institutions involved, the results are directly incorporated into the practice of beekeeping.
Sampling is done on the audit staff of the bee apiaries by institutions. The samples (bees, varroa mites, bee bread, feed wreath, honey) are used to carry out disease investigation and residue analyzes. It take about 120 beekeepers nationwide participated in the study program. This data on beekeeping, location, population parameters and colony management are covered.
