Project code: 2807UM021
Contract period: 24.06.2009 - 15.06.2013
Budget: 180,333 Euro
Purpose of research: Applied research

Hygienic considerations and environmental pollution control requirements are increasingly demanding legal and appropriate measures to keep the air clean for the animal agriculture. To fulfill this requirement is greater emphasis on the use of air purification systems to protect the environment and nearby residents from adverse substances. Statements about the retention of odor, gas and dust are based on a relatively large data base. It is questionable how far bioaerosols, as airborne particles can be effectively separated and how systemic microorganisms in the airborne state can be added and even a component of plant-specific releases are. In addition to the environmental health problem could position raises the proximity of exhaust air cleaning system and stall the question to what extent the common practice in the treatment plants is also a refuge for settlement food hygienically important pathogen infection in farm animals and this condition. Thus, at present be made in environmental and food hygiene aspects not indicative of the biological safety of air purification systems. Likewise, the influence of system control on the emission characteristics of exhaust air cleaning systems is still unclear. The joint project will therefore provide data on the basis of measurements that form the foundation for an appropriate risk assessment.
