Project
Project code: 2804HS021
Contract period: 01.10.2005
- 30.09.2008
Budget: 171,621 Euro
Purpose of research: Applied research
Clonal selection at Geisenheim began shortly after World War II. The Department of Grapevine Breeding (margin) of the FA Geisenheim is currently registered as a preservation breeder with the Federal Office of Plant Varieties of 21 varieties with a total of 131 scion clones. It is one of the largest conservation breeders. Focus of the work, the German guidance grape variety, the White Riesling and Blue Pinot Noir (Schmid et al, 1995;. Ruhl et al, 1995, 2000, 2002. Rühl and Hofäcker, 1998,. Lindner et al 1999a, b; Konrad et al., 2003). The field margin has in his works strive for a broad spectrum of clones with different properties. This genetic material and the experience gained in the determination of physiological indicators are used as part of a joint project with the Universities of Hohenheim and Giessen, as precisely as possible in order to obtain descriptions of the studied clones.
