Against the backdrop of efforts by the EU Commission to review the existing regulatory framework on consumer protection, the following points are to be investigated scientifically: How has the Directive 94/47/EC in other EU Member States (Austria, France, Great Britain, Spain, Italy and the Netherlands) into national law? Investigation, and if so what problems occur for consumer policy in the acquisition and use of timeshare in the scope of Directive 94/47/EC in Germany and other EU Member States by persons resident in Germany. It is important to differentiate between problems in terms of the applicable law on the one hand, and problems with enforcement of existing consumer protective legislation in this area on the other. Comparative investigation of whether and if so what problems exist in this sector in other Member States (especially Austria, Great Britain, France, Spain and the Netherlands). Elaboration of proposals on how the identified problems can be eliminated at the national and at European level.
