Use of geographic information systems for the regionalization of parameters for the prognosis of agricultural pathogens and to optimize the presentation of results
Project
Project code: 2805HS019
Contract period: 01.10.2005
- 30.09.2008
Budget: 281,156 Euro
Purpose of research: Applied research
The aim of the project is through the use of geographic information systems (GIS), the forecasts of weather-based forecasting models to calculate impact precisely in order to achieve significantly better results can be customized. Until now the only use for the scope of a weather station was possible. This meant that all the fields around the station (distance between the stations up to 60km) are treated equally. The introduction of GIS into the planning of crop protection products applications also have a basis representation of the calculation results of the models is possible. The use of plant protection products can thus be made more efficient, while this can in the 'reduction program of chemical plant protection' pesticides can be saved. The development and testing of GIS-based predictive models will initially be using the example of late blight and Colorado potato beetle.
