Purpose of research: Applied research
The aim of this project is to develop a tracing and monitoring system for regional products which involves origin data being verified and also being monitored by an external body. In addition, layout material and informative documents for testing the regional window are to be produced, while a website which users can register on will also be set up.
The project has been divided into four units:
A study on the status quo of existing tracing and monitoring systems in the food industry will be conducted in unit 1. In unit 2, a tracing and monitoring system suited to the use and protection of the regional window will be developed. It will be based on the information obtained in unit 1, and the latest scientific findings will also be taken into account here. In unit 3, each stage of the newly developed tracing and monitoring system will be subjected to a practical test to check its practicability. In unit 4, the website www.regionalfenster.de will be set up, the graphical design of the regional window will be developed, and promotional and informative material for the regional window will be produced.
The results of the project will be prepared so that they can be used for the guidelines on tracing and presented at the conference on tracing.
