Collaborative project: Development of an innovative wireless CO2 soil sensor for plant waterstress detection and precision irrigation. Subproject 3
Project
Project code: 2815501211
Contract period: 01.06.2012
- 30.06.2015
Budget: 120,871 Euro
Purpose of research: Experimental development
The objective of the research project is the development of an innovative wireless CO2 soil sensor for plant water stress detection and precision irrigation. Contrary to the commonly used soil sensors, the water demand of the plants will not be determined indirectly through soil moisture measurements but directly through CO2 measurements in the soil, which reflect changes in root aspiration due to water stress.
