Purpose of research: Experimental development
In the established decision support system 'proPlant expert” for plant protection new possibilities of use of weather data (7-day-prognosis, precipitation radar) will be integrated. The benefit for farmers and consultants for fungal diseases and pests in different crops (e.g. winter wheat, winter oilseed rape, potato, sugar beet) will be analyzed. The weather data will be delivered from the Deutscher Wetterdienst (the official German Weather Service) daily. The data will be imported in the decision support system 'proPlant expert” and analyzed for different questions, for example the recommendation of fungicides or insecticides which is based on the infection possibilities of fungal diseases or the conditions for immigration and oviposition of pests. Therefor new rules have to be developed at different parts in the decision support system for the new possibilities of use of weather data. The internal comparative tests (with and without the new possibilities) shall be carried out automated as much as possible to put the statements on a quantitative wide base.
