Purpose of research: Experimental development
The goal of the InnoComFood Project is to develop a strategy to enable the entrepreneurial and research worlds to fruitfully work together to address the challenges of the future. Hence, the subject of this planned project is the strategic groundwork and networking by the association FoodDACH e.V. developing, and further expanding on the association's current membership, a powerful consortium of universities, research institutions, firms, and policy makers. The association FoodDACH e.V. represents a multitude of research institutions and firms from Germany, Austria, and Switzerland that has set itself the goal to facilitate exchange both between researchers from differing disciplines as well as between researchers and industry. As a German sub-project of FoodDACH, InnoComFood is preparing a communication strategy and an initial series of events to involve all interested parties to lay a solid foundation for subsequent networking activities. The strategy specifically aims at projects with firms to raise the level of investment in research and development. During the initial phase external specialists will assist in carrying out the strategies and communication concepts. Concerning innovation tools, efficient means will be found, in particular, for small- and medium enterprises to profit from FoodDACH e.V. The result should be an interdisciplinary network comprising a multitude of research fields (from basic to applied research); small and large firms from different sectors; consumer organizations; and political groups.
