Project code: FLI-IMP-08-N-0022
Contract period: 01.07.2013 - 30.06.2015
Purpose of research: Applied research

Enterohemorrhagic Escherichia coli are serious zoonotic pathogens. Shigatoxin (Stx) represents a virulence factor for STEC when asymptomatically and persistently colonizing cattle. We aim at developing a vaccination strategy directed against Stx and its effects in promoting long-term STEC shedding by cattle.
