Whitefly (Bemisia tabaci) is an important pest of ornamental and vegetable plants on the field and in greenhouses worldwide. They directly cause sucking damages to crops and act as a vector for over 60 phytopathogenic viruses. On the basis of PCR methods specific questions on the origin and distribution of individual biotypes in Baden-Württemberg are to be answered.
