Sustainable agriculture is an objective which is pursued by many sites. Organic farming especially has the aim of sustainable farming. To reach the goals of sustainable agriculture, further development of farms is necessary. The development must be accompanied by a solid advice of the farms. The aim of the project is the development of a general concept for advice in sustainability. The first step includes the adaption of the model RISE 2.0 to the special needs of its application in Germany and in organic farming. The adapted tool allows a general assessment of the state of sustainability of farms and to deduce basic potentials and strategies for optimising. Basing on that basic assessment advanced instruments for advice are developed and tested. The main topics are the assessment of farm specific sustainability in humus and the nutrient management. Additionally advisors are trained in sustainability assessment and sustainability advice. The resulting concepts and instruments of the project contribute to the development of agriculture to sustainable farming.
